Offline games?

This section would be great if people were proposing to meet up with other players in the same city, to get together and play some Dvorak. I'm not sure it's useful if people are just using it to advertise their latest, untested decks, though. I've tentatively blanked the section for now. --Kevan 18:02, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

I must have misunderstood the section. NP Natanz 21:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Games via Discord/other platforms

This section would be less automated, as one person is the "host", with everyone else being players. The host would have the "deck" (a text file with card names/numbers) in a list, with each card on a different line. Then you would paste the deck into somewhere like [RANDOM.org] to shuffle it. To play, "deal" out the cards via a secret messaging board, by taking the top card of the randomized deck and giving it to player one. Take the new top and give it to player two. Continue this until all players have an equal card amount. Then repeat the process until everyone has the desired hand size. It's preferred to give players the card image. To begin, give the first player his drawn card (from the top of the deck). They then post one of their cards into a centralized place where all players have access, playing it. After all text is resolved in some fashion, the next player takes their turn. Play continues until a winner is decided. When making a deck from the discard, always keep a list of all discarded cards so when it is needed. you can randomize it to make a new deck.

So what do you guys think? --JakeTheWolfie (talk) 17:22, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

I like the idea of playing by Discord. Having one player sit out to execute the game doesn't appeal to me, but a bot might be able to do the job. Don't know anything about Discord bots though.--ChippyYYZ (talk) 16:24, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
I'd be willing to host a few games while a bot might get developed. --JakeTheWolfie (talk) 18:51, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Coming back to this, I might be able to take a crack at it. If I have enouvh time to kill, I could even make a little steam game for dvorak. --JakeTheWolfie (talk) 05:03, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
