Talk:Day of the Triffids deck

Nice implementations of stuff - it looks rather too easy to cling onto the opposing side's victory card, though. --Stephen, 2.3.02
This show was so much cooler than War of the Worlds or V... too bad it was never popular Stateside. Nice deck. Steve has a point about the victory conditions though. NtD --Nev, 29.4.02
I liked it very much it is like pok'emon cards i didn't know anyone could have done in e-mail back --Daniel, 13.8.02
This turns the book into an action film...totally pointless. The issues of science and sociology, and power and politics are skirted by this entertainment and I think is not a compliment to the sophistication of Wyndham's masterpiece. Stop infantilizing good work. --David, 11.11.02
Blah blah blah. It's a game. --X, 10.1.03
An interesting idea I suppose. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, although I found the Chrisalids even better. I've also enjoyed playing Magic, the gathering, so I suppose I'd enjoy this. Somehow it doesn't really inspire me though. Oh well. --paulmakesmusic, 24.3.03
Eh, I was just contemplating a two-faction card game where each faction had a radically different playing style, and had been reading the book around the same time. I'm not trying to "turn the book" into anything, for goodness' sake. --Kevan, 25.3.03
Is there any rule that says you have to pick humans or triffids up front? If not, I wouldn't worry about your opponent holding onto "your" victory card (unless they get both of them)--it looks like the game is playable as a triffids v. triffids game, using humans only to attack the other player's triffids (or vice versa). --AF, 11.4.03
No, you can mix and match as much as you feel like. The games we've played of this have often seen a Triffid-heavy side recruiting humans to attack the opposing humans, and turning their shotguns on themselves when they've done their job... --Kevan, 14.4.03
Just played a 2-player game. It seems rather too difficult to catch up if you fall behind, yet victory can be long delayed by hanging onto the victory cards. I ended up with 5 Triffids and 7 humans to my opponent's 0 of each. After the first half-deck it never looked like I could lose, but we cycled through the deck almost 3 times before I finally won. --marcus, 15.6.03
I'd make it more clear on the Thing cards what counts as triffid, human and structure (no confusion on humans part, but is unclear, for example, does Triffid Nursery count as Triffid, a structure or neither?) --CheeseshireCat, 16.3.04
