How can I be named the Greatest General? --Moi, 11.5.02

Hmm - "Greatest General" should read "Controller of the Army", or possibly vice versa. The "Triumph" card is the one you need. I'll repair it when I've got a moment. --Kevan, 13.5.02

Mea culpa. The correct term is Rome's Greatest General, with Controller of the Army being ambiguous when you can control an army card and thus claim that title. On my set of cards at home its all right but the stuff I typed up and sent to Kevan was from my original notes where I was changing names all the time. Sorry for any confusion... --Sandy, 13.5.02

Reparo. Probably my fault for not implementing a correction that Sandy told me to. --Kevan, 14.5.02

OK, that's better, but I have another question. When does the game end? --Moi, 15.5.02

When someone become's the new Emperor via "Long Live the Emperor", I guess, since all other game talk of the Emperor is as an external entity, rather than something a player could become. Besides, the deck description talks of becoming the heir to win. All pretty obvious stuff. --Pepper, 15.5.02

That's what I thought, but what's the point of having three of such cards, then? Only to prevent someone hoarding it? --Moi, 15.5.02

That and to increase the odds of someone drawing it, in such an epic deck. Although you can also win with "Declaration of Adoption". --Kevan, 17.5.02

Um, doesn't that just make you second in line for when The Emperor Is Dead is played? --Sniffnoy, 17.5.02

I guess that's another unfortunate coincidence of terms. I think Sniffnoy is right. --Moi, 18.5.02

Oh, yes, my mistake. Haven't played this one for ages. I've adjusted the text of "The Emperor is Dead", now, which should resolve things once and for all. --Kevan, 18.5.02

I noticed something when checking this deck out. It is possible for 2 people to qualify to be the Greatest General, etc. Not even hard for 2 to be the People's Choice. Does the last person to play the card get the title? I assume so, but you know what they say about assumptions. --SuentisPo, 8.6.02

Yes. Roman Emperors were infamous for changing their minds about who should follow them. Whoever was the most recent, is the man. --Sandy , 15.6.02

Just a quick errata note: when the Corrupt Senator says "You may destroy this card at any time to count the effects of one Action card or effect," does it mean you can counter the Action card or effect? I was confused at first but I think that is what it is supposed to be. --EagleRock, 7.2.03

You're right; I must have mistyped when archiving the deck from paper. Fixed. --Kevan, 7.2.03

A few things: First, I would recommend a "Master Builder" person card to complement Champion Gladiator. Second, can Riot be used to destroy an Army? How would that be possible? Should there be a Mutiny card for this purpose? --Twenty8, 8.10.03

Master Builder sounds good and I can't see it destroying the way the game works. As for Riots destroying Armies I saw it as the troops being tied up with controlling the unruly mobs and therefore being unable to spend time going on campaigns. At least until things are sorted again (represented by somebody else playing the card). --Sandy, 15.10.03
