I actually printed the cards, and tried playing quidditch with a friend. The rules make it look like the game would be a constant fight for dominance, which would in turn be spent to score points. However, this is not what happened. The game is horribly unbalanced. After two turns, my opponent had two dominance points more than me. This slight advantage turned out to be impossible to overcome. Only a player who is dominant can perform manoeuvres. That seems logical for Snatching and Scoring, but "Outfly" should be accessible to all players, and "Bludger" is too powerful. In addition, only a player who is dominant can benefit from the cards "Supporters" or "Outside problems". "Flying high" is also very likely to only benefit to the dominant player. Not to mention other cards that will increase the gap, like "It's all gone quiet over there!".

The Player cards seemed interesting, but they did not appear at all during our game (I think they were all discarded by the Search manoeuvre).

All in all, the game seemed good, but turned out to be unplayable because it's impossible to catch up once the opponent is ahead in dominance. Even catching the Snitch is illusory, as the dominant player can Bludger and Bludger and Bludger again to make sure they are the only one with Seekers in their hands.

Also, the rules are unclear as to what happens when someone Scores. Should the Quaffle return to centre or not?

Variant: replace Quaffle card with Quidditch playing field card, and a coin

Instead of using a Quaffle card, use a Quidditch field card. This card should have an illustration of a Quidditch playing field seen from above. Place the field in the centre of the table, between the two players. Put a coin on the centre of the field: this coin symbolizes the Quaffle. When a player gains control of the Quaffle, move the coin to that player's half of the card. --Ltn Koen (talk) 16:47, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
