Somewhere, for some reason, a riddle-asking marathon is going on. Each player is a Sphinx asking riddles to other players. If a player can't answer a riddle fast enough, he or she is devoured! I made this deck because I liked the idea, but it's by no means complete or tested, so if you have something to add or would like to make a card for it please do so!

The card types are Riddles (Things that are played onto other players, purple), Solutions (Actions used to solve riddles), and other Things and Actions. Tokens are placed on Riddles to indicate how long they've been in play. If they go unanswered too long, the player loses.

Special Rules

Tokens are needed for this game. Tokens will be referred to as Time Tokens or simply Tokens. Any riddle cards played in front of a player are called outstanding riddles or just 'riddles in front of a player.'

Riddles

Riddles are a type of Thing that are played onto other players. No player may have more than three riddles at a time. If a riddle is played onto someone with three riddles, one of their old riddles (of their choice) is discarded. If a riddle is ‘solved’ it is discarded.

Riddle Time

At the beginning of a player’s turn, a Token is added onto each riddle in front of him.

Losing

If, at the end of a player’s turn, one of his riddles has 5 or more Tokens on it, that player has lost the game. His hand is shuffled into the deck and his Things are discarded.

Riddle Difficulty

The corner number of a Riddle is referred to as its difficulty.
