Dead Spaced Survivor Deck | |
---|---|
Designer | Zenith |
Date | 28/02/2009 |
Players | 2 - 6 |
This is a playable deck - it's finished, tested and ready to play. | |
To play Dvorak: Draw five cards each and leave the rest as a draw pile. On your turn, draw a card from the draw pile and play one Thing and/or one Action. (See the full rules.) | |
Print this deck | |
This deck is locked. Further cards should not be added - leave feedback on the talk page. |
A card game based on the popular game "Dead Space"
Special Rules
Deck
Survivor Deck This deck will include all the equipment for each player. It will include a full Resource pile and full Action pile. It will also include 6 Player cards. To specialise this deck you can print out each location deck for different scenarios. To add the necromorphs to the game Add in the necromorph deck Contains: 81 Resource Cards 34 Action Cards 6 Player Cards 5 Objective Cards Total = 126 Cards
Objective The objective of this deck is to Find the Vessel and attach a power core and navigation card to it. When a player picks up the vessel it is immediatly put into play, then the winner is whoever can attach both the power core and the navigation card.
This deck is set up ready for 6 players and it contains enough cards to have a player vs player match. I will create and add in these additional decks: Necromorph Deck Loading Bay Deck Medi-Lab Deck Bridge Deck Hydroponics Deck Mining Deck Event Pack - The Immortal Event Pack - Betrayel Event Pack - Unwanted Support Event Pack - The Immortal 2
The Necromorph deck is designed to add another player in the game to control the necromorphs whilst the players fight to survive. It will contain Necromorph minions 3 Boss cards and a Necromorph action pack. The Location decks will add location specific objectives and location specific necromorphs, they will also contain unique new actions and resources. The Event Packs will be small and add on unique events to the game (such as in chapter 5 when Isaac is fleeing from the immortal necromorph).
I will also think about designing a Planetside add-on to cover some more of the story on the Planet and maybe even cover some of the backstory such as the comics and movie.
Elimination
When A player has suffered enough damage they will run out of "wounds" and lose the game.
Escape
When A player has completed an objective they win the game.
Rules
Every player takes it in turns around the table Start Phase - Each player takes a character card and takes out 1 Plasma Cutter Card 1 Small Med Kit Card and 1 Basic Ammunition Card. Draw Phase - Each player draws one card from the action deck and one from the resource deck. (You must play any necessary actions immediatly, for example "The player cannot draw a resource card this turn" Player Phase - after all the resources have been gathered each player takes it in turns deciding what they're going to do (for example shot another player) after everyone has finished the draw phase begins again. (You can choose to not do anything if you wish)
No player can have more than 10 cards in thier hand at any 1 time. They can only play 1 action a turn. They can play any number of resources. Objective cards will be placed in the resource pile. Armour can be equipped but you can only wear one at a time. Weapons can be equipped but you can only use one at a time. A weapon must have a form of ammo attached for you to use it. You will lose if you die. You will win if you are the last survivor or if you complete the objective.
As this deck is set up for player vs necromorph (See necromorph deck) you may find cards such as counter with the description "Instantly kill attacking necromorph". These do not apply to players, you can decide amongst yourselves the outcome of these cards, the counter could merely have you shot back and dodge the attack or just dodge it, it's up to you. More importantly, weapons like the line gun have + damage to brutes. Players are not brutes and so the effect is nulified.
After some play tests we found that it's key to communicate with your fellow players. At the beginning of the game you can get teamed upon so it's best to get a good handful of resources before attacking. Communication is key! But also being a sneaky ass is good as well, making short alliances with other players to finish off the others is a good method to win, especially when u turn on ur teammate towards the end when they're weak enough to finish. If you have a good card it's best to keep it in your hand, for example the "Contact Beam". Whenever people realise you're a threat you start getting shot at from all sides so make sure you're prepared for it. Just a few tips.
The thrill of the game is simply the luck of the draw and how the battle can change instantly, you may be in complete control one second then suddenly the whole game turns on you and you have to act fast.
