Description: Based on the first Sonic Battle game, for the GBA. Will start off with the characters given in the game, may add other Sonic characters for fun of it later.
Special Rules
Before play starts, the players each chose one character to be. The options are Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles, Miles "Tails" Prower, Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit, or Doctor Robotnik. These will be detailed later.
Once characters are chosen, the deck is shuffled. The number of cards should be 40-80, depending on how many are playing. Players may go over 80 if they so wished, but the number of cards in the deck should be agreed upon.
Players chose who goes first in any random fashion they wish. Roll a die, play rock, paper, scissors, et cetera.
Each player gets 5 cards for their starting hand. One player, known as the dealer, should then give the rest of the deck a look-through, finding the first Arena card, which is then put into play, the rest of the deck shuffled again. This is the starting arena the battle takes place, though it may change. If players wish to place the Arena into play before dealing out hands, they may do so.
When a card is discarded, it goes face-up in the discard pile. When the deck is depleted, shuffle the discard pile and place it face down to make the new deck.
Hands may go over 5 cards, but players may only draw 1 card per drawing phase of their turn, unless a Special card says otherwise (e.g. the "Overabundance of coins" card).
For a player's turn, play go as follows:
1 - Draw a card (usually one, unless Special card is in effect)
2 - Player may play only ONE Thing card per turn (unless Special card says otherwise), and may play up to three Action cards per turn (unless Special card says otherwise)
3 - Player may chose to either attack or pass. If player choses pass, play continues to next player in a clockwise fashion. If they chose to attack, they specify which character they are attacking, and with what.
4 - If an attack is underway, the defender is able to play any Action - Reaction cards he/she may have. The attack and defense numbers are compared, and the number with the mot wins. Whoever looses takes the diefferance of the two numbersn and subracts that number to their HP amount. This amount is written in the corner of the character's card.
5. The next player starts their turn at phase 1 above. Play continues.
The object of the game is to be the last one standing!
