Miami Beach Fight: Gang Attack | |
---|---|
Designer | Natanz |
Date | March 1 2008 |
Players | 2-5 most fun 4+ |
This is a playable deck - it's finished, tested and ready to play. | |
To play Dvorak: Draw five cards each and leave the rest as a draw pile. On your turn, draw a card from the draw pile and play one Thing and/or one Action. (See the full rules.) | |
![]() | |
This deck is locked. Further cards should not be added - leave feedback on the talk page. |
You're on vacation in Miami when you accidentally step on someone's foot because you were looking at a model on the beach. Next thing you know, you and your friends are being attacked by a gang! You see an ice cream stand and use it for cover. You're lucky the ice cream stand was a cover-up for criminals - there are many weapons in it!
After KO-ing the ice cream stand operator you work together with your friends, the other players, to survive. Divide your weapons well and balance your ammo. Watch out for the 3 mean bosses!
Gameplay
Setup
Everyone starts with HP 10. Divide the cards:
1 Shuffle the deck. Take the deck and hold it face-up so you can see the cards. Keep taking cards until you have 5 non-Event and non-Gang cards. You can re-draw if you feel all players together don't have enough weapons to begin the game with.
2 If you encounter an Event or Gang card, shuffle once and draw again. If it takes too long, browse through the deck and take the first non-Event non-Gang card you see, then shuffle to make sure the remaining non-Event non-Gang cards are well-mixed, then draw another card.
3 Now the next player does this until everyone has 5 non-Event non-Gang cards.
4 Shuffle the deck and make sure there are no Thing - Weapons in the bottom 10 cards.
If you use another method to setup it'll take more time because most cards are Event or Gang cards.
Counters
It's easiest to:
Put counters (dices) on weapons to track your ammo. Use counters (dices) to track the attackers' health and a piece of paper to track the players' health. You'll need about 10 dices for 4 players.
Rounds
During any part of round 1, shuffle Event cards back in the pile. One round goes like this:
1 Each player takes a card. If it's an Event card, whatever it says happens immediately, but other players can still draw their cards before the event takes place. If it's a Gang card, place it in the middle of the table in a way so you can see who took which card. Event and Gang cards don't count towards your 1 Action 1 Thing limit. Put other cards in your hand.
2 Players are free to play 1 Action and 1 Thing whenever they want. For example you can play an Action, someone else does something and then you play a Thing. You can discuss who attacks who. It's possible to attack attackers attacking other players :)
3 When everyone's done with their turn, if a Gang card is still on the table, whatever it says happens to the player that drew that card. The value on the top right of Gang cards is their Attack/HP.
Repeat these steps.
When the pile is empty you've killed the entire gang and win!
Special rules
You can use an Action or a Thing to give a Thing/ammo from your hand or inventory to another player's inventory (not hand). This is crucial to winning so don't forget it!
Ammo is an Action or a Thing, whatever you choose.
When you get a weapon, it's already loaded. The x/y value in the top right corner is the 'damage/max ammo that fits in the weapon'.
When a player is dead, she puts all her Things in her inventory. For 1 Action, others can take Things from her. Shuffle the Actions back in the pile.
Where you place cards is your 'inventory'.
Variations
Everyone tries to survive on their own and wants the others to die! Now trading items becomes a strategy.
If you don't like that sometimes you get some weapons near the end of the game, use 2 piles: 1 with the Friends cards and 1 with the remaining cards. In this case, draw a card from each pile each round. You'll be attacked more, so you may want to use the rule: each round, 1 player can play 1 extra Action.
Difficulty levels
To make it easier:
Start with HP 15.
Each round, 1 player can play 1 extra turn (much easier).
To increase the difficulty:
Start with 4 cards.
Don't use the Events - Nothing cards. This are Event cards that have no effect.
