Special Rules
Winning
Players cannot win until a Goal is played. Goals are cumulative: if both the "Control the Three Legendary Birds" and "Have Six Pokemon" Gols are in play, achieving either of those will grant you victory. Players do not get eliminated from the game.
Status Ailments
Burn, Freeze, Paralyze
Status Ailments are side-wide. That means that they affect all the trainer's Pokemon, even the ones played after the status. They all have the same effect, except confusion: they make the opposing Pokemon immobile for two turns or until Chansey or Cold Water are played, whichever comes first.
Confusion
Confusion requires the confused Trainer to flip a coin to see whose side his Pokemon's Actions affect. If heads, they continue as normal, but if tails, they affect the opposite of the intended side. For instance, if a confused Blastoise's Trainer flips tails, his Hydro Pump will affect the Pokemon of the choice of the Trainer who confused Blastoise. If his confusion is cured before the second turn of his Action, it will go to the intended trainer as normal. However, if a Mr. Mime, acting under the influence of confusion, uses Barrier, the opposing trainer gets the benefits from it.
Playing the Cards
Evolved and evolving Pokemon (cards with a number and first letter of the card over which they should be played in their corner value) can only be played on top of lesser-evolved Pokemon. For instance, Charmeleon has a cornervalue of 1C, meaning it is a first evolution, meant to be played on top of a Pokemon with the cornervalue 0, with a "C" as its first initial.
Pokemon that evolve by stones have two names separated by a slash, and a cornervalue which represents the stone used to evolve it.
Card List
Flip a coin. If heads, the defender's Pokemon are now Paralyzed.
Raichu Action: Thunderbolt
Flip a coin. If heads, the defender's Pokemon is now out of the game.
